As the knitted bike was making its way around the city, getting people excited about the big day, we came up with the knitted trail idea. A broken bike was dismantled and literally thrown over my back gate. I asked some of my favourite nifty Cambridge knitters and hey presto, look what we got. Thanks to claireabellemakes, Jo from MEG, notsogranny, Polly and Clare D.
The Cambridge Bike Festival is the baby of You Can Too Bike Hub, an incredible charity with amazing volunteers and it was a real joy to work with them on this project. My family had a great time on the day and even got to try out some of the bikes. And the knitted bike was also there in all its glory enjoying the attention as always.
So watch out in June 2014 as the festival is to become an annual event at Milton Country Park. A great day out for the Cambridge bike loving family.
